Back in late 2017 I started a YouTube channel called 'Batteries, Beats, and the Great Outdoors' where I posted videos of myself jamming with battery powered synthesisers out in the wild, away from my studio. The early videos on the channel featured Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators quite prominently and ever since first publishing these videos I wanted to flesh out and expand those particular jams in to bigger tracks.

Fast forward nearly four years and I've finally managed to deliver on what those initial sketches promised. Push to Operate is part compilation and part remix album, taking what was suggested by the limited palette of the Pocket Operator and turning them into the complete pieces I always imagined them to be. The original jams are still here, but they've been blown apart and put back together in a brighter, more manic and saturated form.
